The popularity of DIY (do it yourself) projects has grown as people look for clever ways in this economy to save some money. Building a boat might actually be a lot less expensive than purchasing one, boat owners have discovered.  You need to consider just what type of boat you actually want to create if you are really ready to commit yourself to the exciting and somewhat challenging task of making your own boat.

First of all, the boat itself is not entirely made of fiber glass, as building one first begins with wood.
